The order includes an Energy Storage Container System (ESSU), an upgrade to the existing Rolls-Royce ship design engineering package to match new features, an upgrade to the Dynamic Positioning System (DP) and ACON control system, and comprehensive A new Rolls-Royce energy monitoring system that understands the energy use of ships.

The series of platform supply vessels were originally ordered by SEACOR in the United States in 2013 and 2014. Recently, SEACOR announced the establishment of a joint venture with COSCO Shipping Group, and the newly established joint venture company took over the eight offshore vessels currently stocked by Guangdong COSCO.

It is reported that the series of boats are designed by Rolls-Royce and provide them with a complete set of marine equipment and systems. Today, the new owner decided to upgrade the technology of six of the ships and have the option to upgrade the other two.
