Urban Rail Transit Investment Opportunity Analysis

By 2015, the operating mileage of urban rail transit in the country will reach more than 3,000 kilometers. According to the relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission, during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, China’s urban rail transit construction will maintain a modest scale, be active and steady, and reasonably control new projects.

Thirty-three cities across the country are planning to build subways. In 2020, the total planned subway mileage in China will reach 6,100 kilometers, and the planned investment in subway construction from 2010 to 2015 will reach 1.1568 trillion yuan, which will be 5.93 times that of 2010.

In China, 36 cities have submitted plans for the construction of urban rail transit. From 2009 to 2020, the new operating mileage of urban rail transit will reach 6,560 kilometers. It is expected that by 2020, the cumulative operating mileage of urban rail transit in the country will reach 7,395 kilometers.

Calculated at a cost of 500 million yuan per kilometer, urban rail transit will spend 3.3 trillion yuan in 2009-2020, reaching an average of 270 billion yuan annually. China's urban rail transit construction will usher in a golden decade.

The new city’s enthusiasm for the subway is becoming an actual efficiency. The China Shield Construction Group had a total investment of 1 billion yuan in the shield machine project. It took only three months to complete the entire process from project inspection to construction.

However, actual planning far exceeds the statistics currently approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. The planning figures that have exploded all over the country are merely imaginative, because the project needs the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission before it can be put into construction.
