Figure 9-5 shows the peripheral transmission thickener. It has a thick cylindrical construction of a reinforced concrete tank, which has a reinforced central column 1 in place of coagulation soil rake axis, with gold leaf rake annular metal seat in column 1, and the other end of the truss end bracket 2 The platform 5 is provided with a tractor (transmission device) 6 supported on the ring-pool track 4 laid along the upper edge of the pool wall, and the tractor is moved by the motor through the reducer to move on the ring-pool track 4.

The slurry enters the thickener along the feed trough 8 fixed on the bridge 7, and the concentrated material passes through the conical leaves from the periphery into the conical portion below the central funnel, and is then sent away by the sand pump.

Some large-scale concentrators in China use edge-driven thickeners. The main advantages of the thickener are simple structure, convenient operation, less power consumption, and high technical and economic indicators. The main disadvantage is that it has a large footprint and is not suitable for coarse-grained materials of 0.3 mm.
