U.S. wind power industry will increase production by 20% in 2012

The wind power industry, like other forms of renewable energy, currently relies mainly on subsidies from the state to compete with fossil fuels. However, due to the weak US economy and cheap natural gas last year, its wind power development has lags behind. In 2010, the new wind power capacity in the United States was only half of 2009, and China jumped over the United States and became the world's largest wind power market. In 2013, the federal tax credit policy for wind power is about to expire. Currently, turbine manufacturers are scrambling to find profitable projects.
