The two bridge “medical examinations” research and development achievements in Chongqing reached international standards

The “R&D and application of internal corrosion testing technology for reinforced concrete bridge structures” and “Highway The key technologies for the construction of an integrated information platform for bridge detection, assessment, and decision-making were highly evaluated at the conference.

Internal corrosion of reinforced concrete structures is a major killer that affects the health and service life of bridges. In the face of this problem, Chongqing Jiaotong University and Yunnan Road Construction Group Co., Ltd. jointly developed a new technology called “R&D and application of internal rust detection technology for reinforced concrete bridge structures”.
The "R&D and application of new inspection technology for internal corrosion of reinforced concrete bridge structures" includes two new technologies. One is using eddy current heating and infrared detection technology to compare the difference in the heat rate between the surface of rusted and uncorroded reinforced concrete. The second is based on the metal magnetic memory theory method. The metal magnetic memory effect test is used to detect the steel reinforcement in concrete structures. Measured non-destructive testing of the extent of corrosion of steel bars and the degree of rust in concrete was established. A model for assessing the decay and life of bearing capacity of corroded reinforced concrete bridges was established. A guide to the quantitative inspection and assessment of corrosion of reinforcing steel bars in concrete bridge structures was prepared.
The “Integrated Information Platform for Highway Bridge Detection, Evaluation, and Decision Making” studies captures the collection of portable bridge detection data in field mobile terminals, bridge technology status and safety assessment based on routine inspections, bridge safety assessment based on long-term monitoring information, and state-based assessment. With key technical problems such as decision support for bridge management, an integrated information platform for the detection, assessment and decision-making of highway bridges has been developed. The accomplishment completed the coding of the component-component-full bridge system for the rating of bridge technology, and provided intelligent decision support for the bridge to “prescribe medicine for prescription”.
At present, two achievements have been demonstrated and applied in more than 20 reinforced concrete bridges in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces and over 400 bridges in Baolong, Yuyuan and Zhaoyang Expressways in Yunnan Province. Safe operations have played an important role.
At the meeting, an expert group led by Yang Yongbin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Wang Fumin, the chairman of the Chongqing Communications Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., was the deputy leader's expert team. They highly evaluated the two scientific research achievements and considered that the internal corrosion of the reinforced concrete bridge structure The research results of R&D and application of new detection technologies have reached the international advanced level overall, and the research results of the “Key Technology Research for the Construction of Highway Bridge Detection, Evaluation, and Decision Integrated Information Platform” have reached the international advanced level on the whole.
It is understood that the above two achievements were all achieved by the leaders of the Civil Engineering College of Chongqing Jiaotong University and the “Bridge Monitoring, Assessment and Strengthening” team of the Chongqing Science and Technology Innovation Team.
