TUV Rhein launches smart service robot safety assessment program

Shenzhen Electric Artificial Intelligence has long been within reach, such as service robots. And intelligence is never equal to security. When intelligent robots make great strides toward the "home age", who can check for high-tech security? At present, TUV Rheinland is launching a series of safety assessment programs for intelligent service robots.

Figures from market research firm Tractica show that the annual shipments of global consumer robots will increase from 6.6 million units in 2015 to 31.2 million units in 2020, with total shipments reaching 100 million units. Another survey data shows that the sales volume of 2017 domestic robots in the Chinese market will reach 7.5 billion, and is expected to grow to 12 billion by 2018. There are indications that the popularity of service robots, especially housekeeping robots, is rising in China. “Big White” (animated “Super Marines” robots) does not exist only in the movie plot, they still exist in our lives.

Mr. Yang Jialu, Vice President of TUV Rheinland China's Electrical and Electronic Services Department, revealed that TUV Rheinland is preparing a special team for intelligent robots. “This is a brand new industry. There is no unified standard to systematically evaluate the safety of artificial intelligence machines. We It is hoped that the unified norms of the industry will be formed as soon as possible, and the development and innovation of the independent intellectual property robot industry will be promoted."

Worried about smart robots hurting people?

The topic of intelligent robot safety has always been raised, and Tesla CEOs Musk and Bill Gates have publicly expressed their concerns about robotics on different occasions. Earlier, the "Little Fatty" robot, which integrates visual modeling, self-built maps, autonomous interaction, autonomous navigation obstacle avoidance, remote control, entertainment education, self-awareness, emotional expression and many other high-tech functions, was at the high-tech fair. The accident wounded people, and the incident once again pushed the safety of the robot to the public.

“Describes that there is a safety hazard in the design of this robot. Service-based intelligent robots are the most promising products for long-term contact with vulnerable groups. There is no emergency braking function in critical situations, which is a defect in safety design.” TUV Rheinland Electrical Service Industry Zhou Wei, a research and development expert, said that the market always pays more attention to the functions and applications of intelligent robots. However, the safety of "people" is the most important. "This accident is an accident, but it also reminds the industry to pay more attention to the safety design and testing certification of service robots." Compared with the rapid response of the product market, the development of safety standards is relatively lagging.

What are the tests for robot safety?

Start with service robots that are more common in the market, such as sweeping robots. According to Zhou Wei, the automatic sweeping machine for existing standards mainly focuses on the safety of mobile and prevents falling objects. Safety technology involves the sensitivity of the down-view sensor, the reliability of the software processing and the timely braking retraction performance, as well as the ability to prevent external interference. “When we evaluate the mobile security features of different types of products, we will analyze the rationality of electronic circuits from a professional perspective and verify the fault links, prompting the factory to reasonably improve the risk of falling and avoiding human-induced safety hazards.”

For products without current standards, such as window cleaning robots, TUV Rheinland experts will analyze the potential risks of products in advance based on the technical perspectives of different industries, based on professional literacy and rich experience, and further verify the pre-judgment analysis through the bottom test. And put forward reasonable suggestions to the customer R & D personnel, and finally form a preliminary concept of product risk assessment.

In other words, for an interactive integrated robot (or service robot), at least the "risk index" of the TA is evaluated.

How to ensure safe use?

“Currently, service robots for individual functions are internationally standard, such as cleaning robots (sweepers), robotic lawn mowers, etc. However, the market trend is an interactive and integrated service robot, which requires the original single function. Organic integration has become another body. The technical and safety issues involved are very complicated, and there is no uniform testing standard.” Zhou Wei admits that China and the global robot industry are in their infancy, without comparability and reference, the industry The lack of standards still takes time to resolve.

“At this stage, we will recommend a comprehensive risk assessment of the system.” Regarding the system detection problem of robots, Zhou Wei believes that since commercial or domestic robots are not limited to work in closed areas, the target group of collaboration cannot guarantee professional competence and needs to ensure Robots do not harm humans who interact with them. You can start with the following:

1) From the concept of active safety and passive safety, deepen safety technology to all aspects of the robot;

2) From the research of structure, communication, software, motor, control, sensor, obstacle avoidance and system operation, make the safety assessment from the parts to the whole machine, both soft and hard, and fully rooted in the system;

3) Avoid mechanical and electrical injuries such as collision, fall, dumping, high temperature overheating, and complete human-specified tasks while ensuring the safety of humans and robots.

Who puts a safe coat on the smart robot?

Robotics involving artificial intelligence is a new field of mechatronics, and the industry does not have a targeted off-the-shelf standard. All along, the team of intelligent robots from TUV Rheinland is fully referenced to the relevant standards IEC60335, IEC
60730, IEC61508 series, ISO13849, ISO10218, ISO-TS 15066, ISO 13482, IEC62061, IEC
61800 series, IEC 61131
Series, etc., to develop a comprehensive risk assessment plan for intelligent robot companies. With more than 140 years of global certification history, TUV Rheinland has extensive product certification experience, a team of professional experts, and a global network of certification services. Many years ago, it began research on safety standards in the field of intelligent robots, and has extensive practice in this field. experience.

In order to make life better and more convenient, humans invented artificial intelligence and invented intelligent robots. TÃœV Rheinland's wish is to let the robot serve the daily life, let the robot become the warmest companion, let the "big white" enter thousands of households... Perhaps this road of artificial intelligence is still very long, but it is worth looking forward to.

Mitsuba Starter Motor, wholesale various high quality mitsuba Starter Motor products from zowo parts
Buy mitsuba starter for polaris utvs, atvs, pmdd, 12-volt, cw, 9-spline

A starter motor works as follows:

When a current is supplied to the solenoid it engages the plunger.this moves the lever fork and in turn pushes the pinion on the starter motor drive shaft.
the movement also closes high current contacts (brushes) for the starter motor which then begins to turn.together with the rotation and engagement of the pinion to the engines flywheel the starting process is complete.when the ignition switch is released and the current is no longer supplied to the starter motor the solenoid

retracts. this moves the pinion away from the ring gear and the starter motor becomes inoperative.excessive cranking or vehicle faults resulting in the starter motor remaining engaged can result in excessive heat generation and the premature failure of the starter motor and/or its components.
