Caterpillar Introduces Cat C9.3 ACERT Power Solution

Recently, Caterpillar Marine launched a Cat C9.3 ACERT offshore platform power solution that meets the US Environmental Protection Agency Tier 3 requirements for the manufacturer's commercial market portfolio.

The Cat C9.3 ACERT power solution provides MCS-certified commercial solutions for selecting the alarm and protection system to support the global maritime market. This power rating meets the requirements of EPA Tier 3, EU/CCNR Phase II and IMO II regulations. .

Below are the full power ratings for the Cat C9.3 ACERT power solution and mainframe, auxiliary and generator sets.

1800 hp (280 bkW) at 1,800 rpm

The C9.3 ACERT power solution is a 6-cylinder, 9.3-litre engine derived from the existing platform in the Cat engine range. The current C9.3 ACERT power solution expands the low-end power range of the commercial portfolio while serving the various marine markets.

Caterpillar stated that the engine was designed with extensive customer input and company integration experience.
