Sales of China's passenger vehicles (herein referred to in the narrower sense, ie, cars, SUVs, and MPVs) market have been dominated by Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, and Shanghai GM for a long time. The sales championships have only come from these three companies (see table). 1). According to the rankings of the three companies since 2003, Shanghai Volkswagen gradually moved from the first to the third from 2004 to 2006. Then, in 2009, Shanghai Volkswagen's sales gradually recovered to second and first. From 2008 to June of this year, Shanghai Volkswagen is the only car company that has entered the top three sales of passenger cars every month, and FAW-Volkswagen and Shanghai GM do not enter the top three every month. During this period, the top three companies that had reached sales of passenger cars were Chery and Dongfeng Nissan. (See Table 2) In the past two and a half years, Shanghai Volkswagen has won the first place in sales for 12 months. This year it has been ranked first for three months - February, March and June. It is not difficult to see that Shanghai Volkswagen's sales are robust. This is related to the fact that Shanghai Volkswagen has no major decision-making mistakes, high corporate management standards, and support from SAIC Motor, a powerful joint venture partner. From the perspective of car brands and models, Shanghai Volkswagen has also cultivated new sales growth points. In the first half of this year, the sales ratio of Shanghai Volkswagen's Volkswagen and Skoda brand cars has reached 8:2. The Skoda brand is one of its growth points. From January to June this year, Skoda brand sales reached 88,683 units, an increase of 84.5% over the same period of the previous year; while Volkswagen brand models sold 36,996, an increase of only 36.1% year-on-year. Inside the Shanghai Volkswagen brand, there is also a new growth point - Long Yi. Long Yat has become the first-selling vehicle in China in June this year. In the first half of this year, sales volume of Langyi was 119,177, which accounted for 32.9% of the total mass sales of Shanghai Volkswagen. This model designed for the needs of the Chinese market, the subsequent sales estimate is still very impressive. To sum up, Shanghai Volkswagen's sales this year are still likely to rank first, driven by the increase in sales of the Skoda brand and Lam Yip.
