Geely domestic DSI transmission will be available in August

It has been more than two years since Geely acquired the DSI transmission in 2009. From the moment the dust was settled, the localization project of Geely's DSI transmission was put into full swing. After two years of absorption and run-in, Geely finally ushered in its first domestic 6AT transmission. It is said that this 6AT transmission or in August this year, is expected to first be mounted on the British car's SC7 models.

It is reported that since the implementation of the strategic transformation in 2007, Geely has tried to break through the traditional circle of price advantages and has advanced to technological superiority. The most effective way to improve the core competitiveness of products and accelerate independent innovation is to carry out international cooperation and achieve a strategic transformation of globalization. As we all know, the development of key components has always been a technical bottleneck restricting the development of the domestic automobile industry. Therefore, only in the key parts and components of technical cooperation, can we truly enhance the competitiveness of products and increase brand influence.

As one of the key parts of the gearbox, especially the automatic transmission, its quality often affects the power, economy and comfort of the vehicle. The domestic technology development in the transmission field is somewhat overstretched. At the same time, the demand for automatic transmissions in the domestic market has continued to expand in recent years. It is precisely this dilemma that casts Geely's ambition and ambition to acquire DSI. At the time of the financial crisis in 2008, the acquisition was a matter of course.

At present, there are three locations where Geely DSI's domestically produced projects are implemented. Among them, Xiangtan Base, which is the first domestic DSI plant, is expected to have an annual production capacity of 300,000. The other two are Jining Plant in Shandong, which invested 1.6 billion yuan, and Chongqing Tongliang Plant, which invested 800 million yuan.

After 6 years of DSI's market-proven 6AT platform, it adopts "Lepelletier" planetary gear transmission structure and multiple wet clutches and brakes. It utilizes independent clutch control, shift pressure closed-loop control and engine torque control to improve control accuracy and shift comfort. At the same time, the use of better performance lock shock absorbers to achieve low-speed lock, and through the optimized design of the friction plate and the drive shaft, reduce the clutch drag torque, making the transmission to achieve higher efficiency. Its products include various products such as the front horizontal 6ATF series and the front vertical 6ATR series, which can be matched to different models. It is reported that the 6AT gearbox that is about to go offline is mainly applicable to all 1.8L models under the Geely Group. In the near future, it is expected that the automatic transmission produced by DSI will hopefully cover all Geely's models.

As the best-selling model under British brand, the SC7 has a place in the home sedan market due to its spacious space and comfortable driving experience. At the same time, the SC7 models include 1.5- and 1.8-liter models with two displacements, and have the possibility of matching 6AT transmissions. It can be imagined that with the influence of the SC7, Geely can not only learn about the post-listening response of the 6AT gearbox, but also can provide more experience for the matching of Geely's other models.
