Pistacia can be used for biodiesel

Coptis chinensis does not occupy cultivated land, and its seeds can be used to produce biodiesel. It is currently the first tree species selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a key research project for energy plants. Researcher Wu Lifang of the Hefei Institute of Plasma Research Institute launched the "Iron beam creation mutant and genetic improvement research" recently officially started, helping plants to change diesel.

It is understood that Pistacia chinensis is a plant that uses seeds to produce biodiesel, and wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, and ocean energy are equivalent to renewable clean energy. The oil content of Pistacia chinensis seeds is 42.5%, which is an ideal diesel substitute. Coptis chinensis does not occupy cultivated land and can be planted in barren hills and wild lands in most parts of China. It is currently the first tree species selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a key research project for energy plants. Our province is a planting base for Pistacia chinensis. In the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Anhui Province arranged 233,000 hectares of planting plan of Pistacia chinensis forest.

According to reports, the research goal of the project is to use ion beam bioengineering technology to genetically improve important economic traits of Pistacia chinensis and create functional mutants.
