Shanghai: Songjiang realizes intensive water supply

Introduction: Recently, the 40,000 m3/day in-depth treatment and reconstruction project at the Che-tan water plant in Shanghai was commissioned, and the Che-tung water plant was connected to other water plants in Songjiang for water supply. So far, the Songjiang Water Supply Intensification Project has been completed for 6 years, and an integrated water supply network covering the entire region has been completed. Songjiang became the first tap water in the suburbs to deal with the entire area. The people in the district drink the same high quality tap water.

Rural and urban areas drink the same quality water in Pengjia Village, Lugang Town. When Lu Deyong, 58 years old, pays a fee to the staff in the water business office, he says, “The water is much better now, fresh and sweet, I don’t know why. “From the beginning of this year, Lu Deyong found that the water quality of the home's tap water was significantly better than before. The staff told him that since the end of last year, the residents of the Dagang district had been drinking tap water from the Xiao Kunshan water plant. The tap water was treated in depth.

On December 27 last year, the town’s Dangang Water Plant shut down its water production. Through the river crossing, the Xiaokunshan Water Plant began to supply tap water in Dagang and Xinyi. The original town-level waterworks took water from Daxie Port in situ, and the raw water quality was difficult to control. The water production process remained in the traditional way. After connecting the integrated water supply intensive network in the district, the residents of Danang, Xinyi, etc. Drinking tap water from town-level water plants is no longer used. The water quality of the newly built Xiaokunshan Water Plant has undergone advanced treatment, and the water quality at the factory has reached 106 newly announced standards. Urban and rural residents drink tap water of the same quality, and tap water in the Pu’nan region has become “historic” with urban “same quality but different quality”. In fact, not only water quality is intensively changed after water supply, but once the water quality of the water source area in some areas is unstable and water quality pollution is suddenly encountered after the grid is connected, the affected areas do not need to cut off water, and the water company can quickly communicate with each other. The water supply pipe network will allocate water sources in other areas to provide uninterrupted water supply, thus ensuring the safety of water supply in urban and rural areas.

Not only the town of Yangang, but since the beginning of 2006, 14 town-level water plants in the regions of Shaoshan, Dongbi, Shihudang, Yexi, etc. have been gradually shut down, and the conversion of these town-level water plants has also been accompanied by water supply switching. At present, the water supply companies are all under the unified management of the district water supply companies, and the backwardness of the original township's corporate facilities, technology, management, and services has been reversed.

The intensification of the advanced treatment process has made it difficult to meet the requirements of “Water supply shortages, improve water quality, and ensure water supply for towns and villages” based on the city’s “Professional Planning for Water Supply in Shanghai”. In 2004, urban and rural water supply in Shanghai started in intensively. On July 1, 2007, the state enforced the new "Sanitation Standards for Drinking Water", and household inspections were subject to 106 indicators, while suburban counties were allowed to relax for five years. To fully meet the new standards, the intensification of water supply must be accelerated. In Songjiang, there are three hurdles to achieve an advanced treatment of tap water: the closure of a town-level water plant, the construction of an advanced treatment plant, and the transformation of the original water plant. In December 2008, the construction of the 200,000 cubic meters/day of the first phase of the Xiao Kunshan Water Plant started, and it became the first new water plant in the suburbs to use advanced treatment technology.

"The greatest difficulty in achieving an advanced treatment of water quality lies in the transformation of the original district waterworks," said Tao Ming, chief engineer of Songjiang Water Company. Taking the Songjiang Water Company's Second Water Plant as an example, to increase the depth of the treatment process, at least 10 mu of land must be used for the construction of supporting facilities such as pumping stations, ozone contact pools, activated carbon filter pools, and substations. However, due to its location in the central city, the surrounding area has been No extra land.

Take the road that others have not gone and rely on technological innovation to find new ways. After a scientific demonstration, the technical staff developed a set of intensive reconstruction plans. The ozone generation workshop and ozone contact pool are built on the open space in the middle of the original treatment process; the original sedimentation tank is reconstructed and 1/3 of the space is used to build an activated carbon filter pool. The original sedimentation tank is added with inclined tubes to reduce the turbidity of water. ...... Through technical innovation project transformation, not only did not add new land, but also saved 75% of electricity. In June 2010, the in-depth treatment project of the second water plant was put into operation, which not only became the city's first project to complete the advanced treatment and transformation of the old water plant, but also was named as an advanced treatment plant for the old water treatment plant in the city.

CPE135A Chlorinated Polyethylene

CPE135A is a polymer additive, specifically a chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) resin. It's commonly used in the plastics industry to modify the properties of various polymers, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is produced by chlorination of polyethylene, resulting in a material with improved chemical and physical properties. CPE135A, in particular, is known for its impact resistance, flame resistance, and weatherability. It's often used as an impact modifier in PVC formulations, enhancing the toughness and impact strength of PVC products.

Applications of CPE135A include:

PVC pipes and fittings: CPE135A can improve the impact resistance and durability of PVC pipes used in various applications, including water supply, drainage, and industrial piping.
PVC profiles: In construction, CPE135A-modified PVC is used to make window frames, door frames, and other profiles that require a combination of strength and weather resistance.
Wire and cable insulation: CPE135A can be added to PVC formulations for wire and cable insulation to enhance their flame resistance and mechanical properties.
Vinyl siding: CPE-modified PVC is also used in exterior cladding materials like vinyl siding due to its resistance to weathering and impact.
The specific properties and applications of CPE135A can vary depending on the manufacturer and the formulation it's used in. It's essential to consider the compatibility of CPE135A with other additives and the base polymer when designing formulations for various applications.
