·This year China has recalled more than 8 million defective cars

The reporter learned from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine that since the beginning of this year, China has implemented 103 recalls of defective automobile products, involving 8,881,200 vehicles. Since the implementation of the defective automobile product recall system in 2004, China has implemented a total of 1198 vehicle recalls, involving 34.276 million vehicles.
The recall of defective automotive products since 2016 has three distinct characteristics:
First, the number of recalls has risen sharply. Since the beginning of this year, the number of defective automobile products in China has reached 8,878,200, which is the first time in the past year that it has exceeded 8 million. The number of recalls last year was 5,558,900. Second, the number of foreign brand recalls is the overwhelming majority. From the perspective of the brands involved in the recall of automobiles, the top three brands in the recall are: 40 recalls of Japanese brands, involving 5,688,400 units, ranking first; the second is the US brand, recalling 16 times, involving The number was 2.522 million; the German brand recalled 23 times, involving 458,900 units, ranking third. Third, the AQSIQ defect investigation and administrative interviews have obvious effects. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 29 vehicle recalls have been affected by the investigation by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, involving 7,110,200 vehicles. However, during the investigation, it was also found that some production enterprises still have a strong sense of responsibility for product safety, and there are situations in which they evade and voluntarily fulfill their recall obligations.
