Low-rank coal-fired indirect drying process through identification

The large-scale low-rank coal-fired indirect drying process technology and equipment jointly developed by Datang International Chemical Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. and Beijing Electric Power Equipment General Factory were organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. Datang Chemical Research Institute and other units have developed a single 50-ton/hour low-rank coal-fired indirect drying process technology and equipment, and have achieved large-scale industrial demonstration operations in China. The Duolun 460,000-ton/year coal-based olefins project has used this technology to build a 500-ton/hour industrial demonstration unit that has been operating for 4 years, with the lignite moisture reduced from 35% to 40% to 10% to 12%, and the dust in the drying exhaust gas. Contents up to 20 mg/m3 (standard conditions) are in line with environmental requirements and create conditions for the recycling of dry moisture in lignite tail gas. The operation shows that the developed process and equipment are simple to operate and have good drying effect, and can achieve the reuse of dry moisture in the low-rank coal tail gas.
It is reported that low-rank coals such as lignite with high water content and low calorific value are of low utility value and narrow in scope of use. However, with the increase in energy demand, the efficient clean-up and utilization of low-rank coal such as lignite has become an urgent task to be solved. The low-rank coal after drying can improve the combustion efficiency of the boiler, so that the coal-based chemical plant can also select relatively inexpensive low-rank coal as a raw material. However, the existing direct heat-exchange drying technology for hot flue gas has the disadvantages of large dust, poor safety, and the inability to reuse the water after drying; the indirect heat-exchange drying technology is inefficient and the equipment is huge. The development of drying techniques suitable for large-scale lignite and other low-rank coals has become an effective way to increase its use value and broaden its scope of use.
