Waigaoqiao Port National First Ship Throughput

It is reported that Shanghai's international sailing ship throughput decreased slightly in 2012 compared with the previous month. This is the first time that this figure has dropped in recent years. However, due to the pulling effect of the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center, the performance of major ports in the city is still noticeable. The throughput of international sailing vessels of Bridgeport still ranks first in the country, and the indicators of Yangshan Port are also at a high level.

According to statistics from the Shanghai Coast Inspection Department, in 2012, the station detected a total of 2,1969 sailings of international vessels entering and leaving Hong Kong, a slight decrease of 4.40% year-on-year, and checked 448,881 passengers entering and leaving Hong Kong, a year-on-year decrease of 4.73%. In 2012, Yangshan Port saw a total of 9,830 international sailing vessels, a 3.6% year-on-year decrease, and 232,683 inbound and outbound personnel, a decrease of 2% year-on-year.

Yangshan Port’s 2012 indicators have all declined slightly. After the number of ships entering and leaving the country exceeded 10,000 for the first time in 2011, it fell back to less than 10,000 in 2012.

In Waigaoqiao Port, the international sailing ship and personnel throughput experienced a slight decline in 2012, but Waigaoqiao Port is still the single most-dumped port in terms of national international navigational vessels, which has been ranked first for 8 consecutive years.
