In the Majialiang coal mine project, ABB has also achieved the advanced function of “full load half speed” of the hoist for the first time in the world. When the hoist is running, the ACS6000 medium voltage drive system in the system uses two independent rectifier units and inverter unit equipment to power the entire system motor. Under normal circumstances, the two sets of rectifier units and inverter units work independently, and the full load coal mine hoist can operate at full speed. However, once a circuit failure occurs in the mine and causes one of the equipments to stop operating, the entire system can quickly switch to emergency mode and use another set of equipment to work independently. This ensures that the fully loaded hoist continues to operate at half speed. Under normal circumstances, in the face of such problems, mine hoists that have not adopted ABB's “full load half speed” technology can only completely stop working and wait for maintenance. The increase in downtime also seriously affects the safety and continuity of coal production.
