Synthetic ammonia and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis to prepare liquid fuels are two important chemical processes, and the corresponding synthesis gas preparation is critical. The existing industrial preparation of ammonia synthesis gas requires at least 6 steps, the preparation of liquid fuel synthesis gas requires at least 3 steps, the process is complex and the energy consumption is high. In addition, the ammonia synthesis gas preparation process is accompanied by a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions.
The research team proposed the concept of simultaneous preparation of ammonia synthesis gas and liquid fuel syngas in a mixed conductor permeable membrane reactor, ie, water vapour and air are introduced into the membrane i side, and natural gas (methane) is introduced into the membrane ii side. At high temperature, the oxygen generated by the oxygen and water in the air on the membrane i side reaches the membrane ii through the oxygen-permeable membrane and reacts with methane to form a liquid fuel syngas, and the ammonia gas is obtained by condensing and drying the outflow gas on the membrane i side. In theory, a factory producing 300,000 tons of ammonia and 1 million tons of methanol at the same time will require a membrane area of ​​approximately 7,500 square meters, and the reactor volume will be only 75 cubic meters, reflecting a high degree of process enhancement. In addition, its energy consumption is 63% lower than existing industrial processes; membrane reactors have no flying temperature and explosion risk; environment-friendly, no direct co2 emissions and ammonia synthesis gas cleaning, no harmful gases, such as co, h2s and so on.
